Relief for Chile
As you are aware, on February 27, a powerful earthquake struck Chile, resulting in extensive damage throughout the region. The damages are catastrophic and we at Naturipe Farms extend our heartfelt condolences to all those affected by the disaster.
Naturipe Farms has close ties to Chile. Hortifrut, based in Santiago, Chile, is one of our grower partners. Within their organization and their community, farming families have lost loved ones, lost their homes and have been displaced. Schools have been destroyed, supplies are limited and the infrastructure is severely compromised.
While we realize that the road to recovery will be difficult and take time, we hope that the region will soon be able to begin the rebuilding and healing process. With that in mind, Naturipe Farms is taking an active role to help alleviate some of the misfortune suffered during this difficult period. We are reaching out to friends, family, customers and vendors to help us in this endeavor. Naturipe Farms LLC has initiated an internal fundraising program among its employees and partner organizations in all countries where it operates. We are also reaching out to our vendors and customer communities who have benefited from the berries imported from our Chilean partner, Hortifrut.
The road to recovery will be a long one. We will be developing programs in the future to provide long term support to our colleagues and will keep you informed of our progress. I thank you in advance for your generosity and kindness as we strive to help our family farmers rebuild.
Sincerely,
Dwight Ferguson

Meet Gary Nakamura. Gary is a second-generation strawberry farmer in Oxnard, California. Gary's father, James, now in his 80s, started farming in 1952 with 20 acres. Today, Gary oversees about 420 acres and is bringing his son Jeff into the family business. At 23, Jeff is learning from his father that quality is of utmost importance. I would rather farm for quality than volume, says Gary. Were proud to have the Nakamura family as part of our family of farmers.
